We now interrupt this blog for an important announcement: Our original Kitfox Lite is now for sale. Yes, this IS a Kitfox Lite. I originally bought this as a used airplane a couple of years ago, and it was very helpful to us as we developed our Belite 254. But we don't need it any longer.
The aircraft in question was temporarily turned into a Belite 254 (through the addition of carbon fiber wings) and was featured on the cover of EAA's Sport Pilot magazine.
We have returned it to its original Kitfox Lite wings, which we saved, and we have basically given the plane a frame off restoration to new condition.
Here's the facts:
a) Frame is powdercoated white. Pristine condition.
b) Fuselage is coated with dacron fabric, painted Stewart Systems white, with Belite decals. Fabric has one repaired small puncture on right side.
c) Wing is coated with dacron fabric, painted primer gray. You paint it the color you want it, or leave it as is.
d) Firewall is carbon fiber.
e) Seat back and bottom are carbon fiber, as is floor board.
f) Gear is 'bungee' gear.
g) Features rear windows and turtledeck.
h) Wheels are aluminum from Grove systems.
i) Panel is stained and varnished wood, with basic instrumentation.
i) Brakes are Grove hydraulic! They work brilliantly!
j) Engine: MZ-34 engine, bought brand new last year, is included. Includes engine mount.
k) Propeller is included with the MZ-34 engine: Tennessee propeller.
l) For *no* additional charge, we will substitute a 1/2 VW engine (nonflying; believed to be in good condition). You make it work, you make the motor mount, you test, you fly. 1/2 VW is low time engine with dual Mikuni carbs.
m) Also for an additional charge, we will substitute a Hirth F2306 45hp engine and 60x36 propeller.
n) Includes unmounted engine cowl.
o) Looks super sharp.!!!

This plane is offered at $15,000 with the MZ-34 engine, or $15,000 with 1/2 VW, or $16,000 with the Hirth. Plane is FAR 103 legal with the MZ-34.

Empty weight is 236 pounds (without cowl, with MZ-34 engine and prop)! Aircraft also has aluminum fuel tank.
I read this article for Kitfox aircraft and really found very good specially facts about this aircraft. Although this is sold aircrafts but really useful for the person who purchased it.
